It's also a fitting time to reflect over the past year; accomplishments made, areas to improve upon. I have never been one to set New Year’s Resolutions. I never use to be much of a goal setter. Not to say I lacked ambition; on the contrary, I lacked an overall purpose, therefor placed little need on seeing much through. This past year has brought many positive changes. I took a lot of risk (remember this is big for me as I'm not much of an adventurer). I created a blog, and due to loyal readers like you I have had over 6000 hits. Readers from over 24 countries have read words penned by little ole me. Wow. Never in my wildest imagination did I expect to have that happen! I phased out one job, traded it for a stepping stone job that led to yet a another job change to which I have found incredible meaning and purpose. Eureka! Wow.Wow. Wow! Never, ever would I have suspected that to be a part of 2011. Thankfully friendships continued to evolve, grow, flourish and bloom, both old and new. Witnessing my grandmother pass from this earthly life to her eternal life, reminded me of the importance of telling those I esteem just what they mean to me. I have learned to never let the moment pass you by; as you aren't always guaranteed a tomorrow.
Today I celebrated the beginning of my 36th year. Gosh that sounds old. Four years from the big 4-0-!!! I can't help but grin from ear to ear with excitement for what this year will bring. Absolutely no doubt there will be incredibly challenging times; which is guaranteed! The older (I really mean wiser!) I get, I have realized the road I’ve traveled for the past 36 years will lead to a road that offers hope and healing to those who need it. For me that is what life it about!
It’s my New Year’s goal to welcome all the change that will undoubtedly occur; both good and bad. I pray I’ll be grace filled and grateful for all this year has in store! Happy New Year!
