Play Ball!

It is that time of year again when I become a botanist at heart.  Finally the grass is growing and becoming a vivid shade of green, magnolia and cherry trees are flaunting their beauty, and for a brief minute or two the sun pokes through the clouds.  Over the past few years we have been spoiled with an early spring.  This year we are still waiting to put our winter gear away for good!  With all that said, it is officially spring, and time for some BALL!  This year Wyatt was moved up to the minor league.  I'm still not sure if this is a good thing, as he is the smallest one on the team.  There is a BIG difference between 7 and 11....not to worry though; my boy can hold his own on a ball field!  2/3 games he has rallied his team in the last inning with scoring runs.  He really is too much.  I had to pull him from his third game in the 4th inning as it was raining and all of 45 degrees and 7pm.  Yep, I am one of those moms!  Wyatt needs his sleep, and besides, who in their right mind thinks it’s good for 7 year olds to be out past 7pm on a school night????

Wyatt did not play T-ball, again, who in their right mind thinks T-ball is a good idea for 5 year olds???  I am sure a mother didn't come up with this!  None the less, Emma asked Aaron if she could play T-ball and of course, what Emma wants, Emma gets (only with her father :).  Em, also thought it was only fair that Aaron be her coach, as he was Wyatt's for coach pitch.  You see where this is going, right?  Last year after three practices of coach pitch my husband was literally begging for my help.  Fast forward and this year my name is actually on the paper work as a "manager" of the Yankees.  Suffice it to say we are a well oiled machine of 10 adorable and very talented 4-5 year olds.  These kids are priceless and I am positive there is nothing I rather be doing this spring, that cheering on tomorrows future baseball and softball stars!

Dear Mom, School over rated and I will learn many more life lessons if you let me play ball until dark.

Love, Wyatt
